Alien base? “Door” discovered in a photo of Mars intrigues users
The image was taken by the rover’s Mast Camera on May 7 and caught the attention of users on social media. The hole is shaped like a straight doorway, and it didn’t take long for comments about the phenomenon to be an alien portal to begin.
Despite the interesting shape, the “door” of Mars is not really a door. Most likely it is a hole formed after some kind of earthquake, common on the red planet.
Another point is that the photo may be a zoom of a Martian rock and therefore much smaller than the image shows.
